Studio One 4 Shortcuts

Posted : admin On 06.01.2021

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned before that I like anything that saves me time.Whether it’s a shortcut while driving to work, a step that I can shorten in a recipe while cooking, or a shortcut that can save me time in a project - I’ll use anything I can to save a few precious seconds of my day.

Spectrasonics omnisphere 2 dvdr d2 proper- r2r. That’s why I love keyboard shortcuts in Studio One.Every DAW has keyboard shortcuts, but PreSonus seem like they thought about what would make the most “logical” sense when deciding what keyboard shortcuts would make the most sense in Studio One. Mixtrack pro mapping djay. To that end, here is a list of my “Top 10 Favorite Keyboard Shortcuts in Studio One.”

Key Commands. Many operations in Studio One have associated key commands, or keyboard shortcuts, that can be used in lieu of navigating menus with the mouse. Some key commands use modifier keys, and some modifier keys differ depending on the operating system. In this manual, key commands with modifier keys are shown with the Windows modifier key first, as follows: Win modifier key/Mac. Episode 6: General General & Keyboard Shortcuts; Where is the Studio One 3 User Manual? Studio One 3: Audio Device Setup; PreSonus AudioBox i Series QSG, Part 6 of 6: Introduction to Studio One Artist 1 Studio One 4: New User Account & Product Key Registration. Episode 6: General General & Keyboard Shortcuts; Where is the Studio One 3 User Manual? Studio One 3: Audio Device Setup; PreSonus AudioBox i Series QSG, Part 6 of 6: Introduction to Studio One Artist 1 Studio One 4: New User Account & Product Key Registration.

Oh, and I should mention that I’m trying to stick to one naming convention from now on in articles and tutorials, so here’s how it works:Any keyboard commands that use a modifier will be shown with the Mac version first, then the Windows version + the key to be modified like this:[Mac modifier key]/[Win modifier key]+[Key].

These are some of the keyboard shortcuts I find myself using most often. There are a ton of other great shortcuts that will also save you a lot of time (especially if you’re under deadlines). The fact that you can also define your own or import keyboard shortcuts from other DAW’s (if you’ve just switched over), makes these functions absolute lifesavers!

What are some of YOUR favorite key shortcuts? We’d love to hear from you!

Is there a Keyboard Shortcut for record on a laptop or do I need to program one? It says Numpad* and Record for the standard Keyboard Shortcuts. Seems weird there wouldn't be a Studio One Laptop preset.

Yeah, I know I can assign one. That wasn't what I was asking. The question is, is there a key on the laptop that starts recording or do I need to assign one? It seemed a bit strange that Record would be missing since I assume there are many people recording on laptops.

There is not one by default on the keyboard of letters. The S1 record button is the ' * ' (Astrix) number key on the keypad (the section next to the letter keys). Now, if your laptop keyboard does NOT have a number keypad, you may have a 'function' key that turns your 'Letter P' into a one.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, I'm just getting started with Studio One. I've been using Live and Logic for years, but I'm having a fling with Studio One.

I must be missing something here! (sorry new to macs and studio one)
Studio One menu>>About Studio One/Preferences/Services/Hide Studio One/Hide Others/Show All/Quit Studio One..
Can't Find Keyboard Shortcuts? Searched 'keyboard shortcuts' in help 0 pages found..
I have an iMac with a mini keyboard (same as laptops) and would like to have a record shortcut, bit surprised the alternate keyboard setup had the same record option!
Can we set-up a midi trigger also?
thanks for any help

That's why I switched to logic shortcuts first of all - I now only have to press 'r' and it records.

Hmm.. I have 'Keyboard Shortcuts..' below 'Preferences..' in the 'Studio One' menu.
However, you can also go to Preferences/General/Keyboard Shortcuts

Ha! Nice one Markus..
That'd work..I'd probably like to set it all up to work the way I had customized Cakewalk but I plan to learn Studio One as it's set out (but I'd rather buy a new guitar pedal than a new mac keyboard!), maybe set up a midi keyboard to control fx etc but if I can't even re-assign a keyboard shortcut I may have a little trouble.
Thanks for the idea though I hadn't considered that
